Party Games With a Jungle Theme
Party Games With a Jungle Theme: That’s probably because he’s exhausted from playing these games with his jungle companions that are styled after safaris.
It’s likely that after a full day of activities at his or her safari-themed birthday party, your child will be equally exhausted.
Monkey Tag
- The player who is “it” must act like a monkey while playing this game, which is played similarly to the traditional backyard game of freeze tag.
- When a player is tagged, instead of staying still, they move about and behave like monkeys.
- A player who has been transformed into a monkey must continue to imitate a monkey and assist the original monkey in tagging the other players.
- Another player is tagged each time one is.
Lucky Monkey
- On one of the banana shapes you cut out of the yellow cardstock, write the word “monkey.” On the remaining bananas, write the names of additional safari animals.
- Put them on a hat like a safari. Gather the children in a circle and have them take turns selecting a banana from the hat.
- If a player choose an animal other than the monkey, they must run in that animal’s impression around the circle.
- However, if a player choose the monkey banana, they are the fortunate recipient of a reward. Play on until each player has a chance to be the lucky monkey.
Catch the Snake’s Tail
- Each participant should grip the waist of the person in front of them while the players are lined up.
- They form a snake-like line. The snake must catch its tail in order to win the game.
- While attempting to catch up with and touch the final person in line, the first player in line will guide the remainder of the snake around the jungle.
- The snake must keep the chain intact or it will have to start over at the beginning.
Safari Animal Scavenger Hunt
- Place a few stuffed jungle animals across the party area before the event. Inform the children that the safari animals have disappeared.
- Next, shout out the name of a lost animal.
- Call out the name of another animal after they have retrieved the first one. Play on until all of the errant safari animals have been captured.
Sleeping Lions
- The sluggish lions are too worn out to engage in frozen dance.
- Instead, turn on some music and have your party guests roar like lions as they prowl around the dance floor.
- The children won’t freeze when the music stops; instead, they’ll drop to the ground and lie still like lions.
- The last child to transform into a dozing lion has lost the game. Play as many rounds as necessary until only one person is left, starting the music over after each round.
Elephant Trumpet
- Put the musicians in a circle and have them trumpet like elephants. Decide which player will occupy the center position in the circle.
- Ask the middle child to shut his or her eyes.
- Pat one child on the head as you circle the perimeter of the group.
- That youngster makes his or her most impressive elephant trumpeting noise.
- The player in the middle must determine who the trumpeter was.
Jungle Animal Charades
- Similar to the traditional game of charades, participants in this exercise must act out a scenario without speaking.
- Notecards with the names of several jungle animals on them should be folded and put in a safari hat.
- Players will take an animal name out of a hat and use just gestures and motions to try to get the other players to guess what the name of the jungle animal is.
Play Classic Games With a Safari Theme
- Put a twist on traditional party games with a jungle theme.
- Take the game of Duck Duck Goose and replace it with Lion, Lion, Tiger.
- Rotten Banana should be used in place of Hot Potato.
